I have 2008 G29/DRIVE/YDRE that cruises flat roads at 17-19mph but suffers uphill, maybe 5mph on steep path. Will the 400 or the 600-AMP add more torque for climbing? Do I need a new motor as well? 19mph is fast enough just would like same on climb.
David B on May 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: With the 440 you will see an improvement on speed and torque for climbing. If you go with the 440, no other upgrades are necessary. The 600 will require that you replace the motor, solenoid and cables.
I have a 2007 Yamaha ydre will this work?
eric v on Nov 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Eric, yes the YDRE is also called the G29/Drive model, so this will work with yours!
dose the 600 amp controller give more speed than the 440 amp one?
Jerome J on Oct 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jerome, it depends more on which motor you have on the cart. If you have the stock motor, the cart will only go as fast as the motor allows it to run (typically around 18 MPH. Also, if you apply 600 amps to a stock motor, it will eventually burn up the motor. 440-amps is as high as we suggest going with the stock motor. If you have a speed upgraded motor, then by all means the 600-amp controller will work and go faster than 15-18 MPH.
I hope this helps!
Will 600- amp Navitas work with a Yamaha 2017 Drive 2?
Ken B on Sep 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Ken, no this is not designed to work with the Drive2 models.
How much speed will you gain with the 440 controller?
Shannon E on Jul 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It will give you a decent speed and torque gain. However i cannot give you an exact number as every cart reacts differently
